The poor man Lazarus sat outside the gate of the rich man
who, with all his wealth, neglected to
help him: not even to give him the crumbs from his lavish table. I don't know
how he justified that in his own mind but I think he may have said, what I
often hear about the homeless at our gate, "He chose that life
style." The poor, homeless, and addicted are Lazarus at our gate, what
will we do?
