This disturbing picture was taken by Cedric Hayes, he works with the homeless and he takes a photo every day in downtown Portland Oregon, to bring awareness to the needs of the homeless.

I suspect this fella is near my age, and it begs the question, can no one help???? Does no one care?

You may notice his legs are amputated below the knee. Someone's father, mercy Lord, stir the hearts of your church!

What can one do?

There are many ways to help, and each Christian can do something;

if nothing more than writing a letter to the city. Of course we can all support organizations that work with the street people, we can volunteer in countless ways.

No doubt, some are called to approach people on the street, they have faith and courage, some are called to be political; some can help with administrative tasks, and on it goes; but we can all do something.
