“The electric fire of correspondent feelings,”

I read this quote, and it really struck me. It describes that powerful dynamic that happens, on rare occasions, when connecting with others—when the Holy Spirit seems to spark something within us that makes us realize, this is a holy moment!

Here’s a breakdown of the quote:

“Electric fire” — a vivid metaphor for something intense, exciting, and almost physically felt, like an electrical spark or a flame.

“Correspondent” — means matching, answering, or responding to one another.

“Feelings” — emotions such as love, sympathy, affection, admiration, or compassion.

I can’t recall this ever happening to me apart from deeply spiritual moments—especially when praying with others, whether in a group or with a single person. One thing I know: it is never forgotten. It is intensely spiritual.

I wonder if this is similar to, or perhaps even the same kind of experience, felt by the believers in the “Upper Room”—when they were together, united in prayer, and suddenly experienced the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit?
