I'll give you my take on this, and frankly I thought about not posting this quote. When we make a willful choice for ill, we can become discouraged because of the shame, and be driven away from God. But the simplicity of the quote encourages us that to continue on as though we had not fallen.
"I did not think that because I had done wrong I ought not to do right."
God is not as startled with our sin as our pride can be, and so, rise and fall we must but continue to rise.
I like that.
