If you get a chance to see the Body Worlds exibit, do it.
I went through the exhibit this weekend and I was facinated. These are real bodies on display.
This is the process where they use a type of plastic to preserve the body. You will see about 20 bodies in different poses and each body is displayed so you can see all throughout the body, the brain, the circulatory system, the skin, the nerves. It is something to see. You can go online to Body Worlds and get a preview, but this is a don't miss.

I don't believe all these people have donated their bodies for this cause. I have read the pros and cons. Being a nurse, I previously thought about donating my body to medical science but knowing it could end up to be viewed by a bunch of voyeuristic sadists, I have definitely changed my mind. I hope to have a traditional burial now.

I disagree. I believe this exhibit is a fascinating unique opportunity to view, and appreciate, the intricacies of the human body. What an amazing way to provide an incredible experience for common people, who have not chosen a career in the medical field, to observe the body and its various systems.

I don't know where that nurse gets off thinking we are all sadistic voyuers. I found the display fasinating and very educational for a common lay-person that would like to know more, but doesn't have the means or opportunity or see these things in real life. I'm 67 and thoroughly enjoy the display and learned something at the same time.

Why bother leaving a comment like that anyway? Just shows how ignorant people can be. If you're so afraid of how your body is going to be used, you shouldn't donate it to any scientific study; they all have to "look" at you!
