Jesus said, “…but I know you, 

that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.” Jn. 5:42

I read John 5 this morning and this statement stood out among all the rest. What a woeful day to have the Lord say these words. It is so easy to get distracted from the heart of Christ and His kingdom's law, the royal law of caring for others and loving them as we love ourselves. 

Anyone can learn the Bible, quote scriptures, to teach and judge the knowledge of others, to walk by the "letter of the law".

 But to have the love of God in us and hunger to see others walk in freedom, to have their shackles removed, the tyranny of their circumstances relieved and walk with God, cleansed in the blood and working for the betterment of all mankind, whoever and wherever they are; that is to have the love of God in ourselves. That is to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
