I agree with you the contrast of a beautiful young woman and a shrivelled up old woman is very striking.
But as you know beauty and youth is only temporary and everyone has to become old and wrinkled provided God is willing to give a long life. But a person who is beautiful on the inside will always remain a beauty forever.

Hi Joseph, When I first saw this photo what struck me was the apparent need and the apparent wealth. The older woman appears to be looking for alms, whereas the young lady appeared to me to be looking away from her. I noticed the young woman wears a cross and that point is not to judge her but it made me think and convicted me. I also noticed the extreme differences in clothing, the one luxurious,the other bare necessity. The one body emaciated, the other fully fed. Quite the contrast. These things ought not to be.
