I got this letter when I worked at Teen Challenge; it is a hopeless heart cry, and it is all too common. The utter loss of hope makes us want to just reach out and rescue, sometimes we can, sometimes not; but woe to me if I don't try.

Yes, this truly is bleak, but this is why Teen Challenge and other Christian ministries exist, praise God for them.
Awful. I can feel the darkness of it in my bones. Lord, help him to trust you again. God brings such people back from despair if they will let Him.
