"Those who have keenest sympathy are those who look closest and pierce deepest and hold securest." Author unknown.

"Nursing is an art, and, if it is to be made an art, requires as exclusive a devotion, as hard a preparation, as any painter's or sculptor's work; for what is the having to do with dead canvas or cold marble compared with having to do with the living body -- the temple of God's spirit?

It is one of the Fine Arts, -- I had almost said, the finest of the Fine Arts."

Florence Nightingale.

I have known a few nurses in my life, and, I must say, this is so true! They have such a unique responsibility and privilege and gift to be the hands and feet and compassion of our Creator.

Hi Mel,
I suppose it is like any profession, there are some that put little of their heart into it and then others, like Florence Nightingale, who devoted their work fully to the Lord. The former will be soon forgotten, the latter, immortalized.

"My heart is stirred by a noble theme."

God bless,
Fred

Hi Fred :)

Excellent post and photo.

Dedication is important in any field of activity and only through dedication and hard work perfection can be achieved.

Florence Nightingale is a fabulous person who set high standards for nursing. And she was a fragile delicate person but with grit, determination and dedication. She has been one of my role models and her story always inspires me.

Many thanks for sharing.

Have a wonderful day :)
