Please forgive me as I gloat a little on one of my grandsons. This is Nic, who is not yet six years old, out with his father Matt catching a wave in Thailand. Pretty impressive if you ask his grandpa.
I think I was just learning to swim at his age, maybe enough balance to float in a tube? His Dad loves the ocean and that's what you get when you spend time with your kids. Love Fred
That is great, Fred! I've been to Hawaii a couple of times and have always gotten such a big kick out of watching the surfers. It looks like so much fun, but I know if I ever tried it, if I didn't kill myself, I would at least injure myself pretty good. So it's fun to live vicariously through others in this area. I'm proud of your grandson, too. I pray he'll always live life to the fullest with that kind of passion and bravery. Way to go, Nic!
Something to remember and cherish. Your grandson is very brave considering his age.
This brought to my memory an incident which happened when I was small. I used to go to Chennai Marina Beach with my friends and play. As I was happily playing in the water, I found my self pulled by a receding wave into a deep ditch. I couldn't breathe and I was suffocating. My friends saw this and they were laughing thinking I was joking. I was struggling for life. Fortunately for me, a giant wave came and pushed me out of the ditch and I was saved. And here I am today commenting on your blog. God saved me.
