"He that believeth shall not make haste. There is plenty of time.
You must not imagine that the result depends on you, or that a single human soul can be lost because you fail. The question, as far as you are concerned, is, whether you are to be honored in having a hand in the work that God is doing, and will do, whether you help Him or not. It shows no faith in God to make frantic efforts or frantic lamentations."

George MacDonald - Painting by Alma Tadema

"You must not imagine that the result depends on you, or that a single human soul can be lost because you fail..." Thank God. His shoulders are big enough to carry the load. :)

Many blessings, peace and joy to you and yours.

Hi Fred :)

You photo says it all. The man is patiently and laboriously and carefully and slowly chiseling that beautiful figure and sweating in the process. I also notice another man is helping him to carry on his work. Someone has built the scaffolding for him stand and work. If you ask me whether that lovely figure that is slowly emerging is the work of the man who is chiseling, I will say no.

God uses so many people to do his work in this world. Just as the assistant of that man plays a big role in the outcome, so also all of us have a role to play to glorify God and spread HIS message. Even if we falter in our efforts it doesn't matter because God will take care of our shortcomings.

I have a doubt. If every one thinks that if I fail it doesn’t matter, then who will do God’s work on this earth? I don’t know if I have gone in a different track.

It is said in the Bible that even if one sheep strays away from the flock, the shepherd will go after the lost one and there will be much rejoicing when it is found.

Am I confused?

Have a nice day, Fred :)

Hi Mary,
Glad you like it! It reminded me a little of Mary and Martha.

Hi Mel,
Glad this quote hit the target for you as well. We all need to remember this with so many concerns. Blessings back at you.
Fred

Hi Eric,
Thought you might like this. Just reading your blog, with all the wonderful ministries going this way and that takes many hands. This picture reminded me of your community garden project.

Hi Joseph,
Great comments, and where would the sculpture be without the scaffoling? A work of toes and ankles.

I think the point you raised that gave you a doubt is a good one, but I think this quote is written for those who wish to please God and want to see His kingdom flourish; those that would leave it to others need a different kind of post.

God bless,
Fred
