"Often I have marvelled how each one of us loves himself
above all men, yet sets less store by his own opinion of
himself than by that of everyone else."

“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends."
2 Cor 2:17-18

"For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned."

Oh, The Word of God! So rich in wisdom. Thanks for provoking thought.

Hi Fred :)

Very interesting post.

It is true that we love ourselves above others but the thoughts running inside our head is always full of negative thoughts about our shortcomings, inadequacies, incapabilities and failures.

Have a good day :)

Hi Anon,
You are welcome, I'm glad to see how this brought pertinent scriptures to mind and humbling ones at that. Rich indeed!

Hi Joseph,
It is so true, I think if our minds were broadcast for all to hear we would think we are a strange lot.
God bless,
Fred
